The Raise (Revised)

"good practice"

date: December 23, 2009

I was stuck on this for so long I had to scan the reviews for the right course of action. The first one or two times I do it the way I would, of course (which got me fired), but after that, I lost the gumption. This is cuz if it were real, I'd probably by this time be reacting the way I did to a few of my old bosses, by ripping him a new asshole, to drive home the point that this guy's the last one who should be commenting on horrible human beings.

Seriously, then, I consider these games like homework for me on controlling my temper, dealing with superiors, and just about anyone else I hate. So after I got mad and just clicked on the rudest things possible for a couple of times, I finally looked, and went about the right course of action. I read somewhere that the FBI uses these games as training exercises... hopefully it'll teach me a thing or two!

$19 is too much. If it's like 1 or 2 in length, complete with spelling errors, even with the extra TLC put into its design, it wouldn't be worth $5. It's still an amateur-made flash game, regardless of how much time was put into it.

-and before anyone goes off on it, no, amateur doesn't mean he isn't good at what he does. It means this is still a privately made game by someone with home software who wasn't required to go through formal motions prior to its release-

Unless it's been thoroughly tested for bugs, is backed by a major game company, and is at least an hour long (and that's if the player knows what they're doing), then yeah, I say charge money. And even then, maybe a couple of dollars.

Otherwise, it's preposterous. I can buy a used console game for Ps2 that costs $19. Hell, even the uber-lengthy, well-made downloadable games on sites like bigfish don't even cost that much. Sorry, but I'm not about to put Exmortis on even that level.

Like with what I stated before, this isn't the fruit of Sony or Capcom, years in the making (WITH teams of hundreds), ground through the rigorous formulas you're used to paying money for. It's flash software. The same thousands of people use to make thousands of games every day.

Besides, Exmortis is not the holy grail of flash games; there are many others made by people that put major time and effort into a lengthy, excellent flash project.
