I was stuck on this for so long I had to scan the reviews for the right course of action. The first one or two times I do it the way I would, of course (which got me fired), but after that, I lost the gumption. This is cuz if it were real, I'd probably by this time be reacting the way I did to a few of my old bosses, by ripping him a new asshole, to drive home the point that this guy's the last one who should be commenting on horrible human beings.
Seriously, then, I consider these games like homework for me on controlling my temper, dealing with superiors, and just about anyone else I hate. So after I got mad and just clicked on the rudest things possible for a couple of times, I finally looked, and went about the right course of action. I read somewhere that the FBI uses these games as training exercises... hopefully it'll teach me a thing or two!

$19 is too much. If it's like 1 or 2 in length, complete with spelling errors, even with the extra TLC put into its design, it wouldn't be worth $5. It's still an amateur-made flash game, regardless of how much time was put into it.
-and before anyone goes off on it, no, amateur doesn't mean he isn't good at what he does. It means this is still a privately made game by someone with home software who wasn't required to go through formal motions prior to its release-
Unless it's been thoroughly tested for bugs, is backed by a major game company, and is at least an hour long (and that's if the player knows what they're doing), then yeah, I say charge money. And even then, maybe a couple of dollars.
Otherwise, it's preposterous. I can buy a used console game for Ps2 that costs $19. Hell, even the uber-lengthy, well-made downloadable games on sites like bigfish don't even cost that much. Sorry, but I'm not about to put Exmortis on even that level.
Like with what I stated before, this isn't the fruit of Sony or Capcom, years in the making (WITH teams of hundreds), ground through the rigorous formulas you're used to paying money for. It's flash software. The same thousands of people use to make thousands of games every day.
Besides, Exmortis is not the holy grail of flash games; there are many others made by people that put major time and effort into a lengthy, excellent flash project.

you're waiting for some big company to buy it before you complete this? then in other words, it's not going to be completed.
Do you know how many people create flash game series, including the major favorites you've mentioned?
Really, really consider finishing the games you start...
Author's Response:
Hi, and thanks for commenting!
No, I really don't think that some big company will "buy it".
And yes, I know that there are many games out there.
The game was to be completed when the work started many many years ago. These days my "sparetime" = zero, I have no contact nor engagemant from the background artist.
Therefore I posted the demo version because otherwise all time that had been put into the game would be total waste.

freaky, twisted, fun, and challenging at the same time. Good escape-the-room game. The thing with the colors, too? I don't know why peeps said they just couldn't figure it out:
You got blue, red, and green. What are red and green? CHRISTMAS colors! That's how i figured out which ones to push.
My only complaint is, of course, that it's too short. It would've been quite a find if Santa had left to do the same thing in the hallway, then in some adjacent cells, then had to click on guards or whatnot in order to get kill them or incapacitate them to get the key leading out, maybe save some reindeer in captivity, and finally hightail it outta there.
Hopefully there'll be more!

yeah, it looked like a cool game (i'm really gettin' into these tower defense things) but everyone is right - it goes from 0 to 10 in no time flat, with the multitude of enemies and the speed they exhibit seeming far too advanced for just a couple of levels into the game, with two or three turrets with a single range and power upgrade and a few mines that get deployed pretty much immediately, cuz there's too many monsters coming too fast.
It's good you get some time to upgrade and see what you've got before you can select the next wave, but it's kinda pointless as there's NO money to do anything outside of during a wave, and even then you might get lucky enough to purchase a mine or two - the best I got by the time I reached the green blobby boss was a mine and 4 or 5 turrets with a few upgrades, and even then I only got him down to around 400 pts.
I like the design of having a correspondent in a private window help you along; the descriptions and help are pretty thorough and well done. The storyline is neat, too. It's a game that got me going for about a half hour or so, but I just gotta give it up.
Either way, I give it an OK rating - I'd also like to point out that such a weapon(to cause the mutations)already exists as the Neutron Bomb.

I know this is a long time coming, but I only just made an account, dude : )
Ok...
You have everything mixed in here. Part escape the room, part survival horror, long or short. Nowhere near anything the kids would play, yet not chalked full of sex and violence for the sake of adding sex and violence. An adult's game that an adult would actually PLAY.
Drawings for graphics, yet their haziness and muted color scheme make it work! Suspense u p t h e a s s, which is a fantastic plus.
Terrific choice in music for this project - I love how it just booms upon death as if mocking your failure.
For some reason, I like the girl's character. No speaking, no info on her, but she intrigues me somehow. Maybe it's her ability to stay calm with all this going on around her, I dunno. But I like it. Another major plus - I don't even have info on the protagonist and I like her. Fantastic how so much emotion and excitement can come from a project with NO script - that's incredibly hard to do, and you've done it.
Intelligent game. Forces you to think under pressure, with stealth a factor - which is exactly what a survival horror is supposed to be. No massive weapons, no infinite lives, just you and the enemy... or in this case, a little girl, home from school, with an escaped psychopath in her home. Played out EXACTLY how it would probably go, given there was a little girl home from school with an escaped psycho in her home. THAT is real survival horror (the killer under the bed thing? Scared the HELL outta me - I actually clicked cuz I didn't know what it was...).
My one and only peev - it just would've been great if there were more interactivity; more items to click on, more "under the bed" instances, a way to read the paper maybe, so you could understand the extent of his gruesome crimes...
But either way, this is actually one of the only games online I find myself coming back to time and time again for another play. I'd put it on myspace if it weren't for the balls X D. It is for this reason that I BEG of you to please make another. Maybe the same killer can hit another house somehow, or hell - maybe the girl can survive, go to the police station, and when she comes out of the bathroom or something, everyone's dead? The killer can stalk her from place to place, with nowhere safe, cuz he's got some kind of obsession - I dunno. I'm already thinking plotlines for sequals. Which I suppose is another good thing...
BRAVO X D
